Cleaning and drying your masturbator correctly: Care without damaging the material
Careful cleaning protects the material and ensures that your product can be stored hygienically. Since materials and designs vary, the manufacturer's instructions always take precedence. The following steps are a general guide.
Before cleaning: Check instructions and material
Before cleaning, check whether your specific model is intended for reuse. These care steps do not constitute approval to reuse a single-use product. Disposable or reusable: check before cleaning.
Read the manufacturer's instructions first. Specifically check whether the product can be thoroughly rinsed, disassembled, or turned inside out. Never simply turn a model inside out if the manufacturer does not explicitly allow it – delicate material can tear or become deformed.
Cleaning in five steps
1. Remove accessories
Remove housings, inserts, or other detachable parts as provided for in the instructions. Electrical components may only come into contact with water if they are explicitly labeled as waterproof.
2. Rinse at a suitable temperature
Use water at the temperature recommended by the manufacturer. Water that is too hot can damage certain soft materials.
3. Use a material-compatible cleaner
Only use a cleaner that is suitable for the respective material. Aggressive household cleaners, solvents, and heavily perfumed products are not a safe standard choice.
4. Remove residue carefully
Rinse the product according to the instructions and pay attention to hard-to-reach areas. Do not exert unnecessary tension on soft or thin sections while doing so.
5. Allow to dry completely
Carefully remove surface moisture with a lint-free cloth. Then let the product dry completely in a clean, well-ventilated place. Moisture inside is a common care mistake.
Proper storage
Store the completely dry product protected from dust and separated from other soft materials. Direct sunlight, high temperatures, and constant pressure can affect the shape and surface. Use care powder only if recommended by the manufacturer.
Four common mistakes
- Turning the product inside out without manufacturer approval
- Using water that is too hot or aggressive cleaners
- Not letting the inside dry completely
- Storing different materials directly together
The short care routine
Check instructions, clean according to material, rinse thoroughly, dry completely, and store protected from dust. With this simple sequence, you can avoid the most common care mistakes.
